Dear Family and friends:
Before I forget, I wanted to tell you about one of the pictures I sent last week. I was trying to put some information, but it didn't show up after I sent it. The picture is the one with the lemon. Lemons here are very little but they are very juicy. What I have in that glass is what I got from one little lemon.
Today at church the messages were so good about Family History, and one of the sisters did such a good job presenting it. She talked about a person in the desert, without water and no one to help her, and she compared it to a soul without receiving the gospel in this life. And that soul was ready to receive the gospel in the other life but no one to do the work here. It really touched me, I have an uncle and aunt that I have not been able to do the work for them, because their daughter did not give me permission to do the work. It is sad. We just have to wait.
Last monday we had to get a Peruvian passport for an Elder that was going to his final Mission in Ecuador. I have a picture which shows the line that was at 7:30 am when I arrived. The office opened at 8:30 and it was double that amount of people, The elders met me at 8:00 am, and it was 9:15 by the time that we were in the actual desk, only for them to say that the printer they use for passports was being updated and they didn't know how many days it will take. So they sent us to the closest office in Chiclayo, another city 3:30 hours away. The finance Secretary had to go with him. They came back later that night. Then I had 5 missionaries going thru interpol, that was good. And after that we did Biometrics for a sister and for the other sister was not been processed, there are some problems with her documentation, the way they wrote on the computer when she came thru immigrations at
the airport. There is more paperwork that needs to be done. And the elders that did interpol needed another appointment to do biometrics.
On Tuesday we had a meeting called Multizona, where 2 zones get together with the president and his wife and the assistant elders. The talks that they shared were very touchy. Also 4 of the missionaries that will be leaving shared their testimony. Then the missionaries meet in smaller groups where they get some training. And we also had lunch there. By 3:00 pm everyone was almost done, but a sister missionary and I had to leave, because we had to go to the airport. She was going to her final Mission in Mexico. It was sad seeing them say goodbye to her. There were some tears. The sister that is in the middle of the picture I am sending is the one that was leaving.
I sent a signed letter of the missionary that has the problem with her status to Lima, and today Wed she was supposed to receive it. Well in the afternoon she calls me saying that she got the envelope and there were other manila envelopes inside but no letter. I couldn't believe it, because I was very sure that I put the letter inside, especially since I had waited for that missionary to arrive at the office and it was 8:45 p.m. and in front of them I sealed the envelope. I had to take my copy and take it to the courier so she could have it the next day. ½ hour after I am back to the office she sends me a picture of the other envelope that I had sent her and the letter was inside. She had received 2 envelopes from me, and the one she first opened I had sent it Friday the previous week.
Thursday again back to the airport for another missionary that was leaving to go back home. I had to contact the travel agency to get the ticket and I had to purchase a bus ticket from Lima to Cerro de Pasco, his final destination and also a taxi from the Lima airport to the Bus station. The taxi was almost double of what the bus fare was. The taxi was an almost 1 hour ride and the bus was an 8:30 hour ride, all night long. Incredible the difference.
Finally Friday I didn't have to go anywhere, so I started making appointments for the following week. Also the missionaries invited me some pizza so I said that I will make chocolate chip cookies for tomorrow as a thank you gesture.
I went to Tottus, the supermarket, and a lady saw my name tag and asked me what Ward I was attending, when I said Angamos, she said she is also from the same Ward, but she had been in Australia for a month, and she just came back that day. I realized she is the Relief Society President, because I was told she was traveling. It is the 2nd time I meet someone from my Ward in the same place.
Also this week my son Jonathan told me that my house got rented to a single lady starting on Jan 16 until Apr 2026 just a few weeks before I returned. Incredible. Tender mercies or a miracle.

Have a wonderful week, may God bless you.
